Rizzi is the oldest engineering factory in Modena.
Founded in 1857 as a cast iron foundry, by the approval of Este – Hapsburg Dukes, with the aim of producing for the railways, Rizzi contributed with its work to the inauguration of the Central Railway Station in 1859. In this same year Francesco V Este was forced to escape while the people of Modena voted for the submission to the future king of Italy, Vittorio Emanuele II.
From 1950 on, Rizzi started specializing in the manufacturing of tannery machines, until becoming the world leader of nowadays.
